Lady Power —
I drew her once back in 2005 when I started the whole Ultra Fem thing, but just that once and never again. I put her on the 2012 calendar list (see the previous entry), and suddenly everybody's asking: WHO IS SHE??

Okay, here goes. According to the Ultra Fem mythology I've written, Ultra created the Ultra Fem Five team several years ago, and personally invited four other heroines to join her: Night Mistress, The Scratch, New-American Centurion and Lady Power.

I've written about Centurion HERE. The "other lady" I mentioned was Lady Power. She's a tall brunette with long flowing hair, and powers that are very similar to Ultra's, except her powers are magical in origin. If Ultra is Superman, Lady Power is Shazam. LP is leadership material. Very experienced, professional and headstrong. This, together with the fact that she is OLDER than Ultra, made things just... NOT work. The two of them have some sort of uneasy history, but I haven't written details yet.

I do know that, the night Centurion and Lady Power left the group... SOMETHING happened. I'm not going to say just what, but it was important.

Does that help? ;)

    March wallpaper —
I wasn't planning on making a wallpaper for March, in fact I had forgotten all about it. Then tonight I finished a commission featuring The New-American Centurion, and I realized it would make a hot wallpaper!

    The Pinnacle! —

His finished art at last! the colors were a real struggle. I don't want him to look like Superman, but red and blue are terribly hard to get away from when it comes to superheroes. I tried a whole range of shades between blue/green and red/orange, but nothing really worked. So it had to be a subdued red and blue.

This guy will be SO much fun to write for! Wait till you see! LOL!

    Here's his ORIGINAL POST.

    New-American Centurion:
    more redesign art —

I drew this last fall, never published it. Trying to make NAC look less like Captain America. Added elements from Uncle Sam, a football uniform, bits and pieces from other WWII-era heroes, and a greatshield.

Here's the ORIGINAL POST about her.

She'll get her own "Ultimate Guide" eventually.

    The New-American Centurion —

Once again... I spent time on this today instead of OTHER stuff I need to do. But, as before, the spirit came upon me, and I had to hammer this out!

THIS wonderful lady is another one of my original characters from 2005, re-imagined for 2009. FIRST OF ALL, I want to make this clear: her name is NOT American Centurion - - it is 'NEW American Centurion!' That distinction is important. For her new incarnation, I've hyphenated the phrase 'New-American' to make it more clear. (If you don't know the significance of the phrase 'New American Century,' look it up. It will tell you EVERYTHING you need to know about her.)

Centurion was the fifth lady I invented, obviously inspired by the Captain America archetype. Actually, she was more influenced by American Dream, but it's kind of the same thing. After sketching her up, though, I decided that I really didn't want a flag-waving patriot on the team. This was 2005, remember, the depths of the Bush years. I have a serious distaste for patriots, and I knew Ultra Fem would, too. (This is why she's named what she's named!)

THEN, I had a brilliant idea! Well, I thought it was brilliant, anyway. I would take these last two characters and make them FORMER members of the team. They would be founding members who couldn't get along with Ultra. When the series begins, they are already gone, and much of the storyline would be about Ultra struggling to rebuild a workable team. SEE?!

So anyway, Centurion and this OTHER lady (who I'll get to later) were strong leader-types just like Ultra, and they had BAD personality clashes. (Wait till you see! LOL!) So, they are gone, and the Martian and Big Girl are the replacements. And that's where things lie as episode 1 opens...

    The Pinnacle —
And now for something completely different...

I hadn't planned on working on this guy for a while, but the inspiration came, so I did this sketch yesterday... It's The Pinnacle! In Ultra Fem's universe, he's the world's first and still-greatest superhero, yadda-yadda-yadda. Casual visitors to this site might get the idea that "The Ultra Fem Universe" is some kind of role-reversed, fem-dom fantasy world, but no. Ultra Fem is NOT "The Superman" of her world. There's a guy for that.

I first created him back in 2005 to fill the Superman role in Ultra's world, and to give her a male love interest. Or SEX interest, I should say. I wanted him to be obviously the world's-greatest-hero, but I didn't want him to look like Superman. I made him stouter, more mature, gave him a wrestling champion belt, and put that asshole mustache on him. You know what I mean!

The obvious model for The Pinnacle would seem to be Omni-Man from the Invincible series, but that's not what I was thinking when I created his look. Actually, I was thinking of every sleeze gymnastics coach I've ever seen! You KNOW they see themselves this way?? LOL

So, everything about this guy is designed to shout "arrogant prick." Even his name.

Actually, he's a good guy... the BEST guy, and he knows it. Ultra has a great deal of lust and affection for him, and vice versa, as you'll see when I (someday) get the series going.

Pixie Duster - is a new character I thought up for the Ultra Fem universe while I was in the shower this morning. She is estimated to be somewhere around 1200 years old.
