MegaCon 2014

No live stream tonight, guys. I'm too tired. I'll do it tomorrow night.

But here's the good news. I managed to get over to Orlando and squeeze in a couple of hours at MegaCon late Saturday afternoon. It was very crowded and very hectic, but I talked to almost everybody I usually see at the show. Here are a few pictures!

First of all, I MET MEGAN! She figured out who I was while I was talking to Scott Blair. Smart girl! We exchanged autographs. She says hi to all the regulars at the Ultra Fem live stream, and she'll join us again when she settles into her own place and gets internet access. (Scott has a GIANT new full-color sketchbook!)

Here's Danielle Gransaull. I only get to see her once a year at MegaCon. She autographed her new Roller Derby DC Heroines art for me. I love this drawing!

I always look for Dan Parent at MegaCon. He's a really nice guy, and this year he had a lot of new stuff. I bought this nifty flaming Josie print. We talked about how much we loved Dan DeCarlo.

Speed Racer! (and Sparky)

Did anybody know about this?? A giant Bender / Shogun Warriors toy?? I didn't! (It's real! Not a fake box!) (This guy also had one of THESE.)

I don't know what this is.

At dinner, Megan was presented with a belated birthday cupcake. She licked off the icing, but she wouldn't eat the cake. It was the loneliest cupcake ever.

I also talked with Fred Perry, and I met Ann Lockhart. ( I still love Sheba!) I saw Ivy Doomkitty, but I couldn't get close. Her autograph line was huge! I never found Yaya Han's table.

There were plenty of cosplayers like Alisa Farrington and Freya I would have looked for, but the convention hall was MUCH bigger this year, and Saturday is just too insanely crowded. No chance of ever finding anybody who doesn't have a table. Limit yourself to Fridays only at these huge shows! Seriously!

  1. Glad you were able to make it the MegaCon. Looking forward to next weekend and the Emerald City Comicon here. Sounds like we'll have to do a Sheba commission in the near future. ;-)
