Night Mistress sketch

Here's a quick color sketch of Night Mistress, in a pose inspired by Wendy Fiore, one of my favorite models! I did this as a birthday present for a customer.

Night Mistress sketch —

New sketch of NM, based on a photograph of Diana Knight by Simon Thorpe.

When I first saw the photo last year, I told Diana I would make a drawing of it some day. It's just too irresistible!

Night Mistress and The Scratch playtime —

I got this great commission request more than a week ago, the first time anyone has paid me to draw my own characters. It's supposed to be one of my inexpensive "quickies," but I couldn't stop adding to it. I really overdid it. It's supposed to be a "shower scene," but I had to stop or it would never be finished. So, you'll just have to imagine the water cascading over them. Or not. It works either way!

The original request was for Ultra Fem and Night Mistress, but I turned that down. NM and Ultra do NOT have that kind of relationship, and I reserve the right to explore that dynamic in the future of my series (if I can ever get it off the ground). NM and Scratch, on the other hand... well, this is just a Saturday night for them! But before you get the idea that NM is always the top in this relationship, keep in mind that Scratch is a dom, too...

This turned into a real learning experience for me. It made me draw these characters in ways I hadn't drawn them before, and I needed to do it. Night Mistress was surprisingly difficult in this piece, even though she's not doing much. She needed subtlety. I'm happy with the way she came out. So, THANK YOU to my new customer!

On a coincidental note, this week I got a commission request for Ultra Fem and The Pinnacle! I put it in the "long term" commission list, 'cause I know I'll want to linger over it!

Ultra Banners! —

I hung my convention banners on the wall to let them air out and uncurl, and they take up the whole wall! I like this superheroine-theme-decor. I think I'll keep it. It's funny, though... I only made these a few months ago, and I already consider the art outdated.

New Night Mistress art!

I drew this for one of my subscribers. It was supposed to be just a quick little request drawing, but it became quite the spectacular piece! The first draft, which I drew live online last night, was rejected by me because it didn't look enough like Night Mistress. It looked too much like Psylocke, which I do NOT want! Here's the rejected version so you can see what I mean.

Finally finished the full-color redesign of Night Mistress. It's been sitting idle while I've worked on commissions these last few weeks. I keep thinking I need to do more to it, but I like it the way it is.

The Ultra Fem Five are getting a complete redesign!
Here are my first new attempts:

Night Mistress was always the most difficult for me. I never really had a handle on her. This new sketch is much better than anything I've done before, but she still needs work. This one looks too much like Dan Brereton did it. As much as love his work, that's not what I want.

The Scratch is one of my favorite creations. She badly needed more clarity, though. This new sketch gives her more of the animal savagery she needs, but I went WAY overboard! She's not a werewolf!

Under Girl was another of my faves, and of my readers, but she needed more personality. This sketch is definitely going in the right direction, but it's a little too "hentai." Dial it back a bit, and she'll be just right.
